FAQ About 6 Firminator
- What is the Firminator?
The Firminator combines a heavy duty disk harrow, a true agricultural grade cultipacker with a precision ground driven seed system capable of planting clovers, brassicas, wheat, oats, soybeans, and seed blends.
- Is the Firminator a no till drill?
As mentioned above, the cultipacker is utilized both before and after planting based on the seed size and depth requirement. However, The Firminator can be used in a minimal till or no-till type procedure.
- Can the Firminator plant corn?
The Accurate Seeding System is another incredible feature of The Firminator. It handles seeds of all sizes from the tiniest of clovers up to corn, soybeans, peas, sunflowers and everything in between!
- Do you Cultipack before or after seeding?
A cultipacker helps you avoid these problems. Pull the cultipacker over a food plot after disking to firm and smooth the seedbed before broadcasting small-seeded crops. Then, cultipack again after broadcasting. This way, the seed will be pressed into the surface of an already firm seedbed.
More On FAQ
- Will grass seed grow if I just throw it down?
The short answer – is yes. Grass seed can grow if you just throw it on the ground, but the success of the germination will be much different compared to when you do the right preparation and sowing technique.
- What month is best to put grass seed down?
In many climates, the best time to plant grass seed is in the autumn. The still-warm soil of late August, September, October, or November encourages optimum root growth, while the cooling air temperatures discourage excessive top growth.
This is perfect for establishing lawn grasses and promoting extensive root growth.
- Should grass seed sit on top?
The seed won’t grow if it is either buried too deep or sitting on the surface. Whilst seed needs sunlight to germinate, it also needs the air, heat and moisture provided by the soil.
So, if the seed is sitting on top of the soil – it won’t be benefitting from all the things it needs to germinate.
- Will grass seed grow on top of dirt?
Will grass seed germinate on top of the soil? Yes; in fact, germination will suffer if too much soil is placed on top of the seeds. The experts at Jonathan Green recommend placing a thin layer of mulch or topsoil over them to help keep them moist and warm and promote growth.
