- Is the Axis lock a gravity knife?
A: No, it’s not a gravity knife. Not any more than many other types of knives that open when you loosen the detent that holds the blade closed. Button lock, Compression lock, Axis lock and many other knives can swing open just like the AD-15 when you take the detent tension off the blade.
